Chris started learning Japanese as a third former and went on to be an
exchange student. After minor detours (two university degrees, producing an
award-winning short film, production work in the domestic film and
television industry), his increasing debt to Aucklandžs Renkon and Kura
restaurants convinced him that Japan wasnžt quite done with him. So after
wrapping on No.2 and Sionežs Wedding he headed back to Japan in March 2006,
where he headed the development section of Tokyo-based 100 Meter Films until
August 2007. Chris has since returned to Auckland to write for A Thousand
Apologies and to develop other feature and television projects.
